Meet the instructor
Liliya MacKenzie, DMD
Dr. Liliya MacKenzie received her BSc (Hon) and MSc from Mount Allison University and her DMD from McGill University, where she won the AW Thornton Gold Medal in Dentistry. She then specialized in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at the Eastman Institute of Health at the University of Rochester.
Today, Dr. MacKenzie owns a small private practice in Saint John, NB where over 90% of her patients are treated with clear aligners. She is an Invisalign Diamond Plus provider and an Align Technology Orthodontic Faculty. She frequently gives seminars and study clubs to dentists and orthodontists on the topics of optimal clear aligner design and increasing treatment efficiency
Dr. MacKenzie was an early adopter of accelerated orthodontics: she has been treating patients with acceleration since 2014 and participated in a clinical study involving acceleration. She is also the orthodontist on the Cleft Lip and Palate team at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
