Meet the instructor

Bernee Dunson, DDS 

Dr. Bernee Dunson has been in private practice since 1996 in Atlanta. His practice, Dunson Dental Design, can best be described as a comprehensive general practice that focuses on Implant, Cosmetic and Sedation Dentistry.

Dr. Dunson is a third generation graduate of Morehouse College where he completed his undergraduate studies in biology in 1987. He then entered the dental program at the University of Southern California (USC), where he received a Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 1991. He attended Columbia University’s general dentistry residency program at Harlem Hospital in New York and completed a 3 year residency in Oral Implantology at Loma Linda University in Southern California.
He is a Past President of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He is an Honored Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) and Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry (ABOI). Dr. Dunson is the Founder and Director of Global Dental Implant Institute. He is the National Director of Implants and Biologics for Smile Source.

In 2022, Dr. Dunson was awarded the Gershkoff-Goldberg award which is the highest award bestowed to an individual by the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. In 2021, he was the recipient of the Terry Reynolds Trailblazer Award which is given to an individual that has served as an innovative educator in the art and science of implant dentistry. Dr. Dunson has the distinct honor of being the first and currently the only recipient of both of these prestigious awards.
