Course Description
As we’ve seen implant dentistry become the ideal option for treating patients with complex dental issues, it is increasingly important that we can guide our patients to help answer the big question: to replace or restore their teeth? What questions should we ask and what should we evaluate clinically to determine the best path forward? Prognosis-based treatment planning ensures that the treatment option we recommend provides patients with a long lasting, dependable solution that meets their goals and objectives and gives them the smile they desire.
In this course, Dr. LaMar explores the questions to ask and how to use the prognosis of the remaining teeth to guide your patient to the best treatment decision.
Learning Topics
- Understand your patient’s chief complaints and objectives, so you can ensure the options you’re presenting meet those goals
- Recognize the risk factors that, if present, lead to replacement of teeth as a better long-term option
- Use prognosis-based treatment planning to evaluate X-rays and determine the best treatment options
- Discuss how to help a patient with their decision when there is not a clear treatment path
