This lecture takes participants on a journey through the evolution of minimally invasive dentistry (MID) over the past 80 years to today’s advanced regenerative treatment alternatives. While traditional MID techniques have been successful in arresting carious lesions, they often serve as provisional or stopgap measures, ultimately requiring more invasive long-term restorative solutions.

Her journey began with a profound dedication to child dental care, leading her to earn a Master’s in Pediatric Dentistry from the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Peru.

Since obtaining her degree in 2002, Dr. Lazo Navarro has dedicated over two decades to the field, with a particular focus on the past 12 years where her research has centered on the transformative realms of minimally invasive dentistry and bioactive biomaterials. These areas of study are not just her specialty; they represent a significant shift in the dental landscape, offering less intrusive and more natural restorative options for patients.
