Course Description

In this 90-minute video, Dr. Scherer will focus on diagnosis and treatment planning full arch restorations with implant overdentures. This course aims to describe the surgical and restorative principles and techniques related to overdenture therapy including utilizing more implants and wide distribution to enhance patient outcomes. Extensive clinical case demonstrations will be illustrated, advanced concepts in cone-beam CT planning for overdentures, surgical and restorative procedures described in detail, and a thorough discussion regarding the author’s clinical experience with implant overdenture therapy.

Meet the instructor

Michael Scherer, DMD

Dr. Michael Scherer is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Loma Linda University, a Clinical Instructor at University of Nevada - Las Vegas, and maintains a practice limited to prosthodontics and implant dentistry in Sonora, California. He is a fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists, has published articles, DVD training series, and in‐person and online courses related to implant dentistry, clinical prosthodontics, and digital technology with a special emphasis on implant overdentures. As an avid technology & computer hobbyist, Dr. Scherer’s involvement in digital implant dentistry has led him to develop and utilize new technology with CAD/CAM surgical systems, implement interactive CBCT implant planning, and outside of the box radiographic imaging concepts.
