Course Description

During this course, you will be able to visualize and experience the treatment planning, set up, surgery, and immediate conversion of full arch cases. We discuss the use of implants and multi units, along with protocols for performing analog surgery and steps involved for successful immediate conversion. Some minor discussion of complications will also be reviewed.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand "analog" principles (laboratory, prosthetics, surgical)
  • Review protocols and procedures required for predictable full arch immediate load surgery and conversion
  • Learn treatment planning of full arch cases including CT work up, and communication with the Lab for surgical guide fabrication
  • Examine successful approaches and techniques to perform surgery and prosthetics
  • Understand how to identify common complications that can occur with surgery and hybrid prosthesis and learn how to treat them
  • Appreciate vital communication between prosthodontist, implant surgeon and laboratory technician, and learn the recommended follow up schedule and maintenance procedures for individual cases

Meet the instructors

Arshiya Sharafi, DDS 

Dr. Arshiya Sharafi earned his dental degree at the University of Maryland Dental School and completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at University of Maryland Medical Center and R. Adam Cowley Shock Trauma Center. He has trained extensively in Dentoalveolar Surgery, Dental Implants, Orthognathic Surgery, Maxillofacial Trauma Surgery, Facial Cosmetic Surgery, and Benign Head and Neck Pathology.

Dr. Sharafi is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a member of the American Dental Association, California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and Academy of Osseointegration.

Dr. Sharafi’s area of expertise is full mouth reconstruction and bone grafting. He has successfully performed over 4,500 full arch immediate load cases and he is the Surgical instructor for the Biohorizons Dental Implant Training Center in San Diego and it’s TeethXpress Full Arch Courses.
