Course Description

Fluoride was first added to community water systems in the United States in 1945 and has since been recognized as one of the most significant public health advancements of the 20th century. Its benefits in preventing tooth decay are well documented. However, in recent years, emerging research has raised concerns about potential health risks associated with fluoride exposure. As a result, the topic has become increasingly controversial.

At the same time, alternatives to fluoride—most notably nano-hydroxyapatite—have gained attention. It has demonstrated remineralization potential but also has raised some concerns.

This presentation will explore the current science behind both fluoride and nano-hydroxyapatite, highlighting their respective benefits and risks, to help you engage in informed discussions with your patients.
