Lee J. Caleshu, CFA®

Deputy Chief Investment Officer

Lee Caleshu serves as the Deputy Chief Investment Officer for the Columbus, Ohio based RIA, Hamilton Capital. In addition, Lee is also a leader of Hamilton Capital’s ‘Strategic Investment Team’, and serves as a principal for the firm.

With over 25 years of experience in the investment industry, Lee’s expertise lies in researching and directing investments across multiple asset classes, including public equities, public bonds, as well as alternative vehicles such as real assets, hedge funds, and private equity funds. Lee has been quoted for his insights on various financial topics in notable publications such as Barrons’s, The Wall Street Journal, and Bloomberg.

As Hamilton Capital’s Deputy Chief Investment Officer, Lee’s primary focus lies in co-directing proprietary and differentiated research and investment processes to support the goals of our clients while reinforcing the core values of the firm. Lee’s passion for education is also clearly seen as he works to support and serve his team with a strong personal commitment to growing the firm’s next generation of investment analysts.

In his personal life, Lee is incredibly devoted to his family and his faith, taking every opportunity to spend time with his wife and 5 children while also serving on the board of The Greek Orthodox Cathedral Foundation of Columbus as a Director and Co-Treasurer. As a loyal father, husband, and friend; Lee cherishes the time spent building strong, lifelong relationships and loves taking walks, cooking, eating together, and taking family trips.

Francis M. Chu, CFA®

Managing Director, Portfolio Management

Francis Chu serves as the Managing Director of Portfolio Management for the Columbus, Ohio based RIA, Hamilton Capital. In addition to his role as Managing Director, Francis is also a member of Hamilton Capital’s ‘Senior Investment Council’, helping to drive the investment strategies and decisions made by the firm, and is a portfolio manager for the ‘Dynamic Alternatives Fund’, responsible for the Fund’s manager selection, investment selection, and asset allocation.

Francis spent the early years of his career at Goldman Sachs and Arthur Andersen. In 1998, he joined Ivy Asset Management, which later became a subsidiary of BNY Mellon, where he managed multi-billion-dollar alternative investment portfolios. In 2007, Francis became a Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Muirfield Capital Management, where he managed portfolios and advised clients on hedge fund investments.

Francis holds a Bachelor of Science from New York University, Stern School of Business, having double majored in Finance and Accounting, is a CFA Charter holder, and was a Certified Public Accountant in New York State. With over 25 years of investment experience, Francis supports his team by sharing extensive expertise in specific areas of focus including asset allocation, portfolio management, investment research, and alternative investments.

In his personal life, Francis is a devoted father and husband, cherishing the time spent with his wife, three children, and two cats. In his free time, Francis is a martial arts enthusiast, training in Thai kickboxing, Muay Thai, for over 20 years.
