The first step in successful aligner treatment is choosing appropriate cases. Learn how you and your staff can recognize patients who would benefit from aligner therapy, and how to educate patients on the long-term effects of their malocclusion.

Meet the Instructor

Louis Chmura, DDS, MS

Dr. Louis Chmura graduated from Michigan State University in 1978, and earned his Master’s degree in Orthodontics from the University of Michigan in 1987. He is an ABO Diplomate, an active member of the Schulman Group and two other national study groups. He is also an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics, the American Board of Orthodontics, the Academy of Laser Dentistry, and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.

In private practice for over 35 years, Dr. Chmura amassed more than 10,000 hours of continuing education, serves as an advisor to numerous companies, has lectured across the world, and has written dozens of articles and book chapters. Dr. Chmura has developed practical ways for dental professionals to incorporate soft-tissue lasers, 3D CBCT and screening, testing and treatment for obstructive sleep apnea into their practices.
