About the Course

Course Contents

Course Description

The age one dental visit represents a critical and often overlooked opportunity to assess more than teeth. This webinar examines how early dental evaluations can support airway health through recognition of oral restrictions, breathing patterns, and developmental risk factors. Attendees will gain practical strategies for incorporating airway-focused screening into routine age one visits and for collaborating with interdisciplinary providers when concerns are identified.

Learning Objectives

  • Explain the importance of the age one dental visit and its role in early prevention, guidance, and establishing a dental home
  • Identify key oral, functional, and developmental factors to assess during an age one visit, beyond caries risk, that may influence growth and airway health
  • Discuss how early dental evaluation and interdisciplinary collaboration can support long-term oral health, breathing, sleep quality, and overall development
