Course Description
The program will also address how advanced intraoral imaging improves visualization for treatment planning and supports patient communication and case acceptance. Additionally, the course reviews the role of early caries detection in non-invasive and minimally invasive caries management, including considerations for pediatric patients.
Learning Objectives
- Understand how combining near-infrared transillumination and fluorescence imaging can enhance diagnostic accuracy for caries detection
- Identify interproximal caries in patients who are uncooperative or decline traditional radiographs
- Visualize the size and morphology of posterior carious lesions to support appropriate treatment planning
- Evaluate the role of intraoral imaging and fluorescence in patient communication and treatment acceptance
- Understand how early diagnosis of incipient decay can improve outcomes when using silver diamine fluoride and other non-invasive or minimally invasive caries management strategies
