“Treatment of resorbed ridges can present several challenges. Bone augmentation requires longer treatment time, added costs and morbidity. In addition, patients often object to complex surgical procedures. Tapered Short implants have been a welcomed addition to my practice as they can avoid adjunctive surgical procedures while delivering similar treatment outcomes for my patient. Although clinical studies have shown short implants may have higher failure rates during healing, I have not experienced one Tapered Short implant failure to date. This is likely due to the improved primary stability from the tapered body design and deeper buttress threads.”
